Consent is required for physical contact, close-up photos/videos, and for adding others to group chats or social posts.
“No,” “not now,” or silence means no — always respect personal space and privacy.
If someone looks uncomfortable, stop and check in.

Enjoy responsibly. Being under the influence is never an excuse for harmful behaviour.
Illegal substances are prohibited. Follow local laws and staff guidance at all times.

Be mindful of noise levels and considerate in shared spaces so everyone can rest and recharge comfortably.
Quiet hours will be communicated by your Camp Afro hosts on arrival; exceptions may apply for special events.
Treat all accommodation, facilities, and equipment with care, and report any accidental damage promptly.

Be tidy, communicate openly, and respect each other’s space and sleeping schedules.
No unregistered guests are permitted in rooms.
Smoking and vaping are allowed only in designated outdoor areas — never indoors.

Tell us confidentially about allergies, medical needs, or accessibility requirements in advance so we can prepare.
If you feel unwell, inform staff. You may be asked to rest or seek medical attention for your own safety and that of others.

Participation is optional, but if you join an activity, you must follow the instructions of Camp Afro staff and licensed guides.
Some activities carry inherent risks — use good judgement and wear suitable attire and footwear.
Activities may be paused, modified, or cancelled for safety or weather reasons.

Dress and act appropriately around local communities and sacred spaces — modesty is especially valued in Zanzibar.
Ask permission before photographing people or private spaces.
Leave no trace: dispose of waste properly, conserve water and energy, and avoid disturbing wildlife or marine life.
Never remove cultural, natural, or marine objects (including coral, shells, or starfish).

Always ask before photographing or filming identifiable people (fellow campers, staff, or community members).
Respect any “photo-opt-out” indications communicated by staff or guests.
Tag responsibly — avoid posting room numbers or sensitive locations.

All reports are handled seriously and, where appropriate, confidentially.

Our goal is always to resolve issues fairly and quickly. Depending on the situation, responses may include:

• A private conversation or reminder of this Code
• Mediation or separation of parties
• Activity restrictions or room reassignment
• Formal warning
• Removal from an activity or from camp
• Cancellation or termination of booking (see Refund Policy)

We may contact emergency services if anyone’s safety is at risk.

Camp Afro reserves the right to decline, cancel, or terminate bookings before or during camp if a guest fails to comply with this Code or engages in behaviour deemed inappropriate, unsafe, or inconsistent with the spirit of the experience.
Refunds in such cases may be issued at Camp Afro’s discretion.
